Daraja Mbili Vision Volunteers

Welcome to Daraja Mbili Vision Volunteers,

we are a Kenyan community-based and non-profit organization committed to promoting health, preventing diseases, and empowering communities. Since our registration in 2003, we have been dedicated to increasing equitable access to quality health services through innovative, integrated, comprehensive, and high-impact programs that can be delivered at scale.

Our approach is centered around unleashing the latent capacity within communities. We believe in the power of community-led health interventions to transform systems of inequity and address the health challenges identified as community priorities. By working closely with communities, we empower them to lead in the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of our initiatives.

Currently, our work spans across 3 of the 47 counties in Kenya(KISII. NYAMIRA and NAROK), reaching a diverse range of communities ranging from urban slums to remote rural areas. As we align with our strategic plan for 2018-2024, our model focuses on collaborating with the devolved system of government to address the needs of vulnerable populations, particularly women, children, and youth.

The key areas of focus for Daraja Mbili Vision Volunteers include HIV prevention, care, and support services, TB prevention, care, and support services, maternal and child health, economic empowerment, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), and fistula prevention and treatment.

In line with our project objectives, we aim to reduce new HIV infections by 75%, decrease AIDS-related mortality by 50%, and diminish HIV-related stigma and discrimination by 25%. We target various sub-populations, including adolescents and young people, men in high-risk settings, discordant couples, and people living with HIV.

Our project modules encompass comprehensive approaches, such as adolescent and young people programs, prevention of mother-to-child transmission initiatives, treatment care and support services, interventions for men in high-risk settings, programs for discordant couples, efforts to reduce human rights barriers to HIV-related services and TB services, and the establishment of resilient and sustainable health systems.
